Aliens arrive on Earth with a plan to get the attention of humans to stop the creation of a powerful bomb that would annihilate most living things. In California, they test their plan by regenerating a recently deceased man and his wife, along with a local police inspector. Capturing the attention of a local pilot, the police department and government officials, a small group set out to stop them. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching Ed Wood’s 1957 film, “Plan 9 from Outer Space”.

· At the beginning of the movie, the two pilots see the silver spacecraft. The spacecraft waivers in the sky and the string holding it can be seen when the pilots first see the craft and again when the flight attendant walks in and sees it.

· The police are called after the two mourners attending the old man’s funeral find the bodies of the grave diggers. The police car leaves the precinct where it’s noticeably dark outside. As the patrol car is driven down the dirt road, in the middle of nowhere, it’s daylight. It’s dark again when Inspector Clay and the others arrive at the graveyard. One of the others even remarks to Inspector Clay to be careful because of how dark it is.

· Jeff and Paula are at home when they hear the sirens from the cemetery. Paula has a cup and saucer when she sits down next to Jeff. Jeff starts telling her about the flying saucer, and Paula sets her cup and saucer down, on the edge of the table. It cuts to a farther view and they’re still on the table but have moved farther away from her.

· Several scenes show the old man walking, with his cape covering his face and it’s noticeably not Bela Lugosi. This happens when the old man walks out of the crypt. Later, Bela Lugosi as the old man can be seen walking up to Jeff and Paula’s home, but it’s noticeably not him when the old man enters their bedroom.

“Plan 9 From Outer Space” (1957) stars Gregory Walcott, Mona McKinnon, Bela Lugosi, Vampira (Maila Nurmi), Criswell, Tor Johnson, Tom Keene, Dudley Manlove and Joanna Lee. It runs 79 minutes and is rated “Approved”.
